In addition to providing financial support for education and training ventures, the Trust also helps numerous volunteer groups that provide invaluable services and support for the inNer-city communities.

The Trust recently approved a grant of €5,000 for Poolbeg Training, to fund a significant engine overhaul of its sailing ketch (2 masted boat), the 42ft Rinn Voyager. The ketch is used as an aftercare rehabilitation facility for recovering addicts and youth at risk. The volunteer organisation has catered for over 70 different client groups including youth groups, transition year students and young early school leavers from community training centres, and particularly clients from various drug projects, which is the main focus is the adult drug rehab work. In all, over 8,000 participants have used the facility. It is a constant challenge to keep the boat, sails and engine in good order and the Trust was delighted to be able to support this worthy venture.
