One of the key areas of focus for the Trust is assisting the development of extra-curricular and sporting activities within the inner city.

Earlier this year the Trust was delighted to be able to assist Ballybough Boxing Club, which provides boxing training to residents of all ages living in the North East Inner City. The Club provides a 12-week programme, free of charge, to children aged 7-11 to experience the sport without having to make an investment in equipment.

Also, each year the Club participates in “Operation Activation” to provide free fitness and training exercises to non-boxers. Over the years the Club has catered for Women, the Over 50’s, the Travelling Community, and LGBTQ. This year, in association with Store St Garda station, the Club provided free boxing classes to Ukrainian Refugees that have been temporarily accommodated in the city.

IFSC Trust granted €2,500 for the Club to fund equipment needed to provide a range of inclusive projects.

The photo shows the Club's most improved boxers, meeting Jim Rock at a screening of Creed as a reward. Rock is the only boxer to have held the Irish title in 4 different weights divisions.
