Sensory Rooms

The development of Sensory Spaces within schools was identified as an important area for investment by the National Council for Special Education (NCSE) in 2021. These spaces help children who have been exposed to trauma, suffer from stress, and those with specified sensory needs, such as autism.

As such, sensory rooms continue to be a significant investment requirement for inner city schools and has been a particular focus for the Trust over the past number of years grant-aiding approx. €60k in aggregate to date, enabling several inner-city schools to meet this much needed requirement.

We expect funding of this nature to be a continuing need across the inner city in the coming years and, as is evident, these spaces are expensive to provide. The ongoing support of our Sponsors and supporters to assist us in financing these needs is therefore greatly appreciated.
